Based on the initial results from the research teams, discussion at the committee levels, and visits with jurisdictions during the visioning process, a series of policy goals and recommendations will be developed for further implementation. These recommendations will, in a sense, take the form of a “general plan for the corridor” requiring more detailed implementation in the form of urban design standards, land acquisition, capital improvement plans, parks and recreation planning, etc.
Recommendations will include illustrated toolbox topics specific to issues identified, model ordinances, an action plan with suggested timing for improvements and additional implementation steps.
Recommendations will likely address, but not necessarily be limited to, the following topics:
Open Space (identification of key areas of preservation
This effort will be coordinated with Salt Lake Counties Open Space master plan.
Urban design of adjacent development
This is not envisioned as a de novo look at nearby land uses and densities, rather a look at some of the following issues:
- Land use compatibility at jurisdictional borders
- Site design and impact on environmental issues
- Site design and impact on aesthetics, recreation, and use of the trail
Coordinated Recreation Improvements
